My Back Story as an Adoptee
Hi Friend,
I'm Wiletta, and thank you for joining me here in this sacred space, created just for you.
For much of my life, I searched for answers. Answers about identity. Belonging. Rejection. Loss. Love. Healing. As an adoptee, I understand firsthand what it means to live with unanswered questions, a fractured identity, grief that doesn’t always have language, and trauma that often goes unseen by the outside world.
Adoption can be beautiful, but it can also be deeply complex. For many adoptees, there are layers of abandonment, rejection, secrecy, loss, and emotional pain that can impact relationships, self-worth, attachment, and the way we move through life.
My own healing journey has not been easy, but it has been transformative. That journey led me to do the deeper work—not only for myself, but so that I could create a safe space for others. I am a Certified Trauma-Informed Care Practitioner, and through Healing Deeply From The Root, I support individuals who are ready to confront the wounds beneath the surface and begin true healing. While my lived experience as an adoptee allows me to deeply connect with members of the adoption community, my services are not limited to adoptees. Trauma does not discriminate. Trauma can come from childhood experiences, abandonment, grief, abuse, family dysfunction, relationship trauma, emotional neglect, domestic violence, identity struggles, life transitions, or simply years of surviving in silence.
Whether you are adopted or not, if you have experienced emotional pain that continues to impact your life, relationships, confidence, boundaries, or sense of self, you deserve support.
What makes my work different is that it comes from both professional training and lived experience. I understand what it means to wear a smile while carrying pain. I understand what it means to search for belonging. I understand what it means to unlearn survival patterns that once kept you safe but now keep you stuck. Healing Deeply From The Root was created because surface-level healing was never enough for me. If you are an adoptee navigating identity, reunion trauma, rejection, or complex family dynamics—you are seen. If you are someone carrying trauma unrelated to adoption—you are seen too. This is a space for healing, growth, truth, and transformation. Because healing is possible. And your story does not have to end where your pain began. Healing starts here… from the root.
