Through shared stories, meaningful conversations, educational resources, and peer support, we seek to reduce isolation, encourage self-discovery, and remind every adoptee that they are not alone. Our goal is to help individuals move from surviving to thriving by embracing their identity, finding strength in community, and discovering hope through healing.
Our VISION is a world where every adoptee knows they are seen, valued, and never alone. We envision a thriving community where adoptees find healing, discover their voice, build meaningful connections, and transform their experiences into strength, resilience, and purpose. Together, we believe healing happens in the community, and hope grows when stories are shared.

Our MISSION is to create a safe, trauma-informed, and judgment-free space where adult adoptees can connect, heal, and grow through authentic relationships, shared experiences, and mutual support. We are committed to fostering belonging, encouraging self-discovery, and empowering adoptees to embrace their stories with courage, compassion, and hope.
Meet Your Facilitator

Willetta Calvin
Founder & Facilitator
Willetta discovered that she was adopted later in life, and finding out changed the course of her life in ways she could never have imagined.
Learning that she was adopted was not a gentle conversation or a carefully supported experience. It came in a way that left her with more questions than answers. Questions about her identity, where she came from, who she looked like, and why this truth had been withheld from her. Finding out that such a foundational part of her story had been hidden created feelings of shock, confusion, grief, rejection, and deep emotional pain. It made her question everything she thought she knew about herself and her place in the world.
Like many adoptees, discovering the truth sent her on a journey, not just to find her biological family, but to find herself. She began searching for answers through records, support groups, DNA testing, and reunion efforts. Along the way, she experienced both connection and rejection, healing and heartbreak. What she came to understand is that adoption is not a single event; it is a lifelong journey that can impact identity, relationships, belonging, grief, and self-worth.
What she did after finding out was exactly what many adoptees do: she searched. She searched for her truth. She searched for family. She searched for understanding. But ultimately, she realized that while answers are important, healing is essential.
She is uniquely positioned to facilitate adoptee sessions and meetings because she brings both lived experience and professional experience to the space. She is not speaking from theory alone—she is an adoptee who has walked through the complexities of late discovery adoption, reunion, rejection, identity confusion, trauma, and healing.
In addition, she is a Certified Trauma Professional and the Founder of Healing Deeply From The Root, where she supports individuals in understanding and navigating trauma, survival behaviors, identity wounds, and emotional healing. She also understands the importance of creating spaces where adoptees feel seen, heard, validated, and safe without judgment.
She has led support and healing circles for several years, creating brave spaces for honest conversation, emotional support, personal reflection, and community connection. Her facilitation style is rooted in empathy, authenticity, trauma awareness, and the understanding that every adoptee’s journey is different.
Her circles are important to her because she knows what it feels like to carry unanswered questions, silent grief, and complex emotions. It is her hope to create a space where adoptees know they do not have to navigate those feelings alone.

Whether you’re searching for answers, navigating reunions, exploring your identity, or seeking a place to belong, you don’t have to walk your journey alone. Here, your story is valued, your voice is heard, and your experiences are honored.
Who is the Adoptee Circle for?
The Adoptee Circle is designed for adult adoptees (18+) at every stage of their journey.
Whether you’ve always known you were adopted or discovered it later in life, you’re welcome here.
Whether you’re searching for your biological family, navigating reunion, processing loss or rejection, exploring your identity, or simply looking for people who understand, you’ll find a community that walks alongside you.
No matter your race, culture, background, or adoption experience, the Adoptee Circle is a place where you can be yourself, share your story, and know that you are seen, heard, and valued.
You don’t have to have all the answers to belong here. You simply have to be an adoptee looking for connection, healing, and hope.
How can the Adoptee Circle support you?
The Adoptee Circle encourages, supports, and empowers you wherever you are on your adoption journey.
Through monthly gatherings, meaningful conversations, educational resources, and shared experiences, you’ll find understanding, connection, and hope alongside others who truly “get it.”

Come as you are. Leave knowing you belong.
What are the benefits of attending the Adoptee Circle?

It is a community built by someone who has walked the adoptee journey and understands the importance of being seen, heard, valued, and supported. Our approach is rooted in empathy, authenticity, emotional safety, and the belief that healing happens when people are given permission to show up fully as themselves.
In addition, you are supported by a Certified Trauma-Informed Professional and the founder of Healing Deeply From The Root, Willetta Calvin. She supports individuals in understanding trauma, survival behaviors, identity wounds, and emotional healing.
